Now Speak English Online Teachers

This is how NSEO recruits American teachers: at a competition rate of 400 to 1.

What Makes a Good Teacher?

NSEO strictly follows three criteria when selecting teachers. The three are (1) quality as an educator, (2) ability to bond with students, and (3) classroom experience.

Education

NSEO teachers are native North American teachers who have majored in English at university, or have teaching experience or teaching qualifications. Teachers must understand English pedagogy and have the ability to maximize learning in a variety of ways.

Personality

NSEO teachers are expected to be kind and friendly with their students at all times. A teacher who is only scary to students is not good. First of all, the teacher should be kind and friendly, and at the same time, be able to teach in depth academically.

Experience

In addition to simply having a degree, you must have experience in group classes and 1:1 classes. This is because beginner teachers with little experience or teachers who are in charge of students for the first time judge that they have not yet been verified.

Competitive Recruitment

Some institutions place the greatest emphasis on the educational background of native speaking teachers. However, NSEO focuses most on academic background and does not hire just any teacher. The teachers in our NSEO program are award-winning educators, leaders in their fields, and constantly research and work on class structures and students. If the goal is to truly learn a language, teachers who have more experience in English teaching and are leaders in the field of English teaching will choose a better teaching method than teachers who graduated from the mathematics department of a prestigious university.

Our NSEO native teachers are selected through five stages.

Step 1: 1st document review

Review of job application documents and original licenses, background investigation (including criminal records and social media)

Step 2: Video Screening

Video screening is conducted to determine if the applicant is suitable for online classes.

Step 3: 1st interview

We check the applicant's passion for education, personality, and experience teaching ESL students.

Step 4: 2nd interview - Teaching methodology

Justin Nguyen
Founder & CEO

Justin founded NSEO in 2017 when he switched his tutoring online. His retention was so high that he needed to hire more teachers and train them to cover all the students that kept asking for lessons. Currently, his company hosts 350 students from Korea, Taiwan, and Indonesia, including expats in Bali.

His experience began teaching in Chemistry laboratory and tutor in Organic Chemistry at the University of Richmond, which he attended as an undergraduate. Dissatisfied with "grad school for chemistry" path, Justin charted his own way forward helping develop homeschool co-ops and tutoring high school students in New York before moving to Bali in 2013 where he has been based ever since.

He brings tutoring to life: he is the master tutor! He pours his time into each student and makes their worst subject into their best. When he takes on a student, it's a 2-3 year commitment so his passion is in keeping the value for students and building relationship-- which means bringing them to the top of their class and keeping them there!
